This slab is 10" thick and post-tensioned by steel cables. The
slab is placed directly over a vapor-retarder. According to the
American Concrete Institute, a slab exposed to 70 degrees or
warmer, less than 40% relative humidity and with a 15mph wind,
will dry at a rate of 1 inch thickness per month. That suggests
that under ideal drying conditions, this slab may take almost a
year to lose its water of convenience.
